Rob grew up in western North Carolina just outside of Maggie Valley. At the age of seven he began to sing with his dad and mom in churches around the area. Rob's musical background was shaped greatly by his father who in his own right is a great singer, musician, and band leader. Rob's teenage years were spent playing bass and singing in his dads bands. In 1985 he moved to Nashville, TN and regularly opened shows for Grand Ole Opry legends Jack Green, Del McCoy and Tommy Cash. In the late 80's Rob took a job playing for a national southern gospel group called The Kingsboys. It was then the he met a girl named Angie from Michigan that would capture his heart. In 1988 Rob moved to Michigan and in June of 1992 Rob and Angie were married. They now have three children that they are very proud of. Rob was also the lead vocalist for a group from Houston, TX known as The Sound from 1990-1992. The Sound was fortunate to perform frequently on TBN and perform at several national conferences. Rob has also put together 30 voice choirs for Reba Mcentire and The Judds and has played guitar and sang back-up vocals for Anita Cochran. As a songwriter Rob has written songs for national artists such as Gold City, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, the Mark Trammel Trio, Mercies Mark and many others. Rob is currently on staff as the Minister of Music at the North Auburn Hill Baptist Church and has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Although he has had numerous opportunities to play for national groups and artists, Rob feels that his family and church should come first and that all the other things in life will be added in due time. "I only want to be where God wants to put me, says Rob. I believe that as a Christian I am not called to force Jesus on people but rather live my life in a way that may cause someone to say... wow, that's what I want." Robs favorite verse of scripture is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
